The scene does zoom a rather large amount for a small amount of mouse wheel movement. What about a button on the menu bar that toggles between a scene translate mode (left click drags the scene/mouse wheel zooms/hand cursor) and a selection mode (left click selects objects/mouse wheel scrolls/normal arrow cursor)? How about we figure out a good compromise? I guess it comes down to personal preference. I don't know, I would much rather be able to zoom with the mouse wheel rather than scroll.

But, if the code is already written, then it would be nice to have it used in the time honoured way.īTW - I just tried the middle click thing on the latest 0.7.3 debugging version and I couldn't get the page to move up/down or left/right - the scroll wheel is the way to go! I think you'll find a lot of people will have special functions assigned to left+right click as well - by default =middle click for most PCs I think. The only reason I haven't suggested this before is because I see it as a cosmetic feature, and there are more important issues at the moment. Hold down SHIFT (configurable?) and scroll - zoom in/out - as per the current implementation I eventually got back to normal after typing a number of keys randomly. Typing the Escape key pulled up the Start menu. Alt+Tab no longer worked, for example, and various keys produced odd results. Various other functions were also different.
